Daycare Just Minutes from Redondo Beach

Leaving your dog home alone all day isn’t always realistic — work schedules, appointments, and long days add up fast for Redondo Beach families. Down Dog Lodge gives your dog somewhere better to be: a cage-free space in nearby El Segundo where play, rest, and supervision replace hours of boredom. Since 2017, Redondo Beach dog owners have made daycare drop-offs part of their regular routine, not just an occasional favor at our dog daycare near Redondo Beach, CA.

What Your Dog Gets at Every Visit

  • Open floor, no cages: dogs socialize and play freely all day, never confined between activities
  • Matched by size: the Mini Lodge keeps smaller dogs together while bigger dogs spread out in the Big Pen, indoors and out
  • Staff watching, not just present: trained handlers actively run and supervise every play group
  • Room to actually move: 12,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor space to burn off energy
  • Meals and meds handled: feeding and medication administration included with every visit, no add-on fee
  • Water everywhere, always: bowls placed and refreshed throughout every play area

Why Regular Daycare Pays Off

A tired dog at pickup is nice, but it’s not the real win. Consistent daycare visits build structured socialization, physical exercise, and mental stimulation — the three things that keep a dog balanced day to day. Dogs who spend regular time in a group setting tend to warm up faster to new people and new dogs, and boredom habits like chewing, barking, or pacing have a lot less room to take hold when those needs are already being met.

The payoff shows up at home: a calmer, more settled dog once the day is done. Come see for yourself at our dog daycare near Redondo Beach, CA.

We’re Here for You

Down Dog Lodge has been part of the South Bay since 2017, and every call we make — from staffing to floor layout — gets decided with one question in mind: is this good for the dogs in front of us?

  • Vetted First: every dog clears our Temperament Test before joining a play group, so guests are grouped with dogs they’ll actually get along with
  • Never Unstaffed: someone’s on-site around the clock, 365 days a year, including holidays
  • Space to Match: a 12,000 sq. ft. facility built so dogs have room to move, not just a spot to sit
  • Homegrown, Not Franchised: locally owned and run in the South Bay since day one in 2017
  • See the Day Unfold: daily photos and videos posted to Instagram at @downdoglodge
  • Covering the South Bay: serving dogs and their people across El Segundo, Manhattan Beach, Hermosa Beach, Redondo Beach, Hawthorne, Lawndale, and the surrounding area

Why We’re the Top Dog Daycare Choice for Redondo Beach Pet Parents

Most Redondo Beach dogs already have a routine — a lap around Miramar Park and the Esplanade in the morning, maybe an afternoon at the Redondo Beach Dog Park inside Dominguez Park, off Flagler Lane. Daycare fits right into that same rhythm: instead of a dog pacing at home during a nine-to-five, they’re getting that same kind of open-space, social play in the middle of the day, with none of the driving or off-leash guesswork.

That’s the gap Down Dog Lodge fills for Redondo Beach families — not a once-in-a-while treat, but a standing part of the week. Drop your dog off on the way into work, and they come home having actually done something with their day, not just waited for you to get back.

How to Get Here from Redondo Beach

Redondo Beach to Down Dog Lodge is a straightforward run up the coast. Start by merging onto Pacific Coast Highway northbound (CA-1 N) — Jersey Mike’s marks the curve in the road on your left. About 1.7 miles later, the highway becomes S Sepulveda Boulevard (still CA-1 N, just a name change), and from there it’s another 3 miles or so, with a Taco Bell passing on your left near the 0.6-mile mark. Turn left onto E El Segundo Blvd at El Segundo Boulevard — either of the two left lanes works — and you’ll find us on the right about 0.2 miles down, at 1501 E. El Segundo Blvd, El Segundo, CA 90245.
